Liberal Facism

It's for your own good. We know what's best for you.

It's the audacity of elitism. The health police (aka liberals), spurred on by their successful persecution of smokers, are now going after people who "don't eat right."

The Los Angeles city council has decided that there should be no more fast food restaurants in a southern portion of the city. That part of town apparently has a higher obesity rate than the more affluent areas of LA.

What is even more disturbing (to me, at least) is that the city council knows, or even wants to know, where all the fat people are. Should that be any of their business? Is the government getting a little too comfortable examining the people over whom it rules?

Read His Lips?

John McCain seems to be backtracking on his pledge of no new taxes. George H.W. Bush found out the hard way what happens when you do that.

One of the few issues that makes McCain slightly more palatable than Obama, when it comes to being president, is his previous stand on taxation. Now, with candidates from both of the major political parties appearing to be dyed-in-the-wool liberals who never met a tax they didn't like, it's starting to look better for a third party candidate to move in and fill the conservative void in the November election.

I know, the Libertarian party is full of nut cases, but what choice do conservatives have at this point? At least their presidential candidate, Bob Barr, seems to have his head on straight.

Let's Get One Thing Straight Here

Any United States Senator who wants to visit wounded American troops in a military hospital can certainly do so.

Barack Obama says he "got wind" that his visit to the military' regional medical center in Landstuhl, Germany might be considered political. Not only is that a strangely vague way of dodging the issue, it's also.....let's see, what's the word?

Oh, yeah.....disingenuous.
